"The Boy For Me"
My sister had a boyfriend
Whom I was quite fond of.
Every time he came to our house I was glad.
A little over-anxious to answer the doorbell,
Tripping over things just to let in this lad.
But he was all wrong for my sister,
I knew it.
He'd hurt her badly one day.
Breaking her heart and then carelessly
Running away-
With me, with me!
Oh, how happy we would be!
Up in a tree,
K*I*S*S*I*N*G!
Can't he see,
He's with the wrong girl
But he's in the right family,
How can it be?
This is the boy for me.
I had to be so careful
To hide my attraction,
Not to let my inner-most feelings be known.
Lurking in the shadows I'd write in my diary,
On the other line when they spoke on the phone.
And all the while knowing this jealous
Obsession
Was turning me into a spy.
Sooner or later I'd corner my rival and cry-
"He's mine, I'm his,
And Sister that's the way it is!
Just him and me
K*I*S*S*I*N*G!
Now, I agree
It may not be fair
And it's not very sisterly,
In time you will see,
This is the boy for me."
I finally got the courage to tell herI loved him,
Tripping over words just to set my heart free.
But nothing quite prepared me for what had to follow,
Or how the other woman reacted to me.
Her eyes filled with tears
And she shook her head strangely,
Then smiled as she took my hand,
She spoke to me plainly.
So I would not misunderstand.
And she said:
"Sister he's mine.
Find another Valentine.
Not to be mean,
But soon I will be seventeen,
And you're only nine-
Soon the boys will be standing in line.
You may not agree now but
Someday you'll see,
How this was the boy for me."

As you might guess from the title, this is strange and eerie synth music meant to conjure a mystical film where all is not what it seems. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 14, 2023
